Rebecca Lange
Rebecca is the Computational Specialist for Humanities

Rebecca completed her PhD in astronomy at the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research at the University of Western Australia. During her PhD she studied the mass-size relation of galaxies, for which she analysed images from several ground- and space-based telescopes and also accessed, cross matched and analysed other relevant data for over 10000 galaxies in the GAMA survey database.

Before Rebecca moved to Perth she studied Astronomy and Physics at Nottingham Trent University where she also worked as a research assistant in scientific imaging for art conservation and archaeology. Her work there included the development and testing of instruments and software for imaging and spectroscopy as well as the organisation and supervision of field trips, which often required liaising with art curators and conservators.

Throughout her studies and research work she has gained extensive programming as well as data analytics and visualisation experience in various programming languages.

Rebecca is particularly interested in applying her technical skills to support and train researchers in the digital humanities.
