Victor Calo is one of the Science and Engineering Representatives for the Curtin Institute for Computation

Dr Victor Manuel Calo is a Professor in the Department of Applied Geology of the Western Australian School of Mines in the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Curtin University. Dr Calo is a highly cited researcher who is actively involved in disseminating knowledge: Dr Calo has authored over 150 peer-reviewed publications. Also, in the last two years, he has given more than 25 invited presentations and keynotes at conferences and seminars, and organised fifteen mini-symposia at international conferences. Dr Calo holds a professional engineering degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Buenos Aires. He received a master‘s in Geomechanics and a doctorate in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Stanford University. Dr Calo’s research interests include modelling and simulation of geomechanics, fluid dynamics, flow in porous media, phase separation, fluid-structure interaction, solid mechanics, and high-performance computing.
